Whitechurch Parish

Welcome to Whitechurch Parish in Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, D16 YN27.

Welcome to Whitechurch Parish

You are very welcome to Whitechurch Parish.  We are a parish on the edge of Dublin in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains.  I like to think that we are a welcoming and active parish with activities for all ages.  We are members of the Church of Ireland and in turn the Anglican Communion.  Worship & God through the teachings of Christ are at the heart of our community, and we have a wonderful tradition of music and prayer.

                                           Our Mission Statement

We are a vibrant and inclusive Church of Ireland (Anglican) Parish, striving to live by the Holy Bible as disciples of Jesus Christ to the Glory of God.

There has been Christian worship at Whitechurch Parish for many centuries. Our mission is to build on these foundations and to be a welcoming and prayerful community.

In a spirit of Christian hospitality and love we will;

  • provide a place of worship, faith and sanctuary for all people;
  • nurture our community through education and service;
  • care for and sustain the integrity of creation;
  • proclaim and act on our commitment to peace, justice and reconciliation.

As Christians, I believe that we should treat all equally and following in Jesus’ example love one another.  John 13 tells us ‘I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.’  We are an inclusive church, and all are welcome.

Please feel free to contact me if you wish to know more about our parish and I would be delighted to meet and talk to you. Every Sunday following our 10.30am service we serve tea and coffee in the Old Schools Hall adjacent to the church and it is a great time of fellowship and a way to get to know each other.

We have Sunday Club, Youth Club and Children’s and Young People’s services regularly along with many other activities.  You will find information about these and many other parish organisations and activities as you explore our website.  We also stream our 10.30am service for those who for whatever reason cannot join us in person.  If you are attending on a Sunday for the first time, please make yourself known to me.

Yours in Christ
